Kyle @ KyleGrubb .com
My name is Kyle Grubb. I am twenty-four years old. Born in Illinois and raised in Georgia, I have traced the Southeast all of my life. I am an artist/writer and have been composing my own original brand of Country Soul and Rock & Roll music since I was seventeen. The songs I write come not only from experiences I have observed but also from trials I have undergone first hand; trials from which I would not have survived had it not been for the grace of God. The day before my eighteenth birthday I went into septic shock in the hospital from a rare parasite infection (Trichinosis), and my family was told I wouldn’t be coming home. Miraculously I made it home, but over the course of the next few years, as anyone who has perspective on the matter will tell you; when you are forced to fight for your life, everything changes. During the months of hospital visits and trying to maintain respectable grades for my high school graduation, there was no time in my life for the things I had once held so very close. I lost touch with a lot of people I cared about and I would have even lost touch with the man I wanted to be had it not been for my relationship with Christ. After having the required surgeries and treatments to combat the effects of the parasite that for some time had gone misdiagnosed, I passed the time spent healing and numbed my pain by playing music for hours on end each and every day. See after two years of not knowing if you are going to live to see twenty-one, you learn to let the little things go. I led my high school’s chapel band, and even before getting sick I had always imagined working in Nashville somewhere in the music industry. It was this time spent healing and working with the talents I was given however, that led me to put so much of myself into singing and songwriting that it became a part of who I am. Everybody has one special thing that allows them to share the person they are with others; mine is and will always be music.
“The Master of Life’s been good to me. He has given me strength to face past illnesses, and victory in the face of defeat. He has given me life and joy where others saw oblivion. He has given new purpose to live for, new services to render, and old wounds to heal. Life and love go on, let the music play.”
